My name is Kory Kintzle and I lived on my family’s dairy farm. I just graduated from Marquette, I will be attending Iowa State in the fall, and I am involved in the Easton Valley FFA Chapter. My parents are Jason and Kelly. We milked 120 cows 2 times a day in a double 10 parlor. My main responsibilities on the farm included feeding calves, milking cows, and cleaning barns. Dairy Month to me helps celebrate dairy farmers and their hard work producing dairy products. Dairy month is important because it helps show support to dairy farmers and helps promote dairy products.

My name is Josie Kintzle and I have lived on my family’s dairy farm in La Motte. I just completed my high school career at Marquette Catholic High School and am involved in the Easton Valley FFA chapter. My parents are Jason and Kelly. We milked 120 cows twice a day in a double 10 parlor. My main responsibility around the farm were feeding calves, moving cows, and milking in the morning and evening. While being in the dairy industry, dairy month has been very important to show thanks to the hard-working dairy farmers. Dairy month is extremely important to me because it shows support to dairy farmers and lets them know the consumers are appreciated for their hard work for supplying this country dairy products.

Our names are Megan and Amber Kremer, and we live on our family dairy farm in La Motte. Megan is a senior and Amber is a sophomore and we both attend Marquette Catholic and are both involved in the Easton Valley FFA Chapter. Our parents are Rod and Carrie Kremer. We milk around 100 cows twice a day in our double 12 parlor. Our main responsibilities are feeding and taking care of the baby calves and helping with milking when we are finished with claves. We also have to feed and take care of our show calves. To us June dairy month means a lot to us. It is a month that celebrates the hard work and dedication of dairy farmers. Growing up on a dairy farm has shown us firsthand the commitment and passion that goes into dairy farming. This month is a time to recognize and appreciate the contributions of dairy farmers, from early mornings in the milking barn to late nights in the fields.

My name is Breese Orr-Thole and I work on Hoffmann dairy in Dubuque. I am going to be a junior at Marquette Catholic and am involved in the Easton Valley FFA. I work with brothers Mike and Eric Hoffmann and their parents Karen and Ronald Hoffmann. We milk about 150 Holsteins 2x a day using Lely robots. My main responsibilities on the farm are to feed calves, wash the robots, and help fetch the cows that have gone too long without milking themselves. Dairy month is important to me because it recognizes the hard work put into raising and milking dairy cows by farmers all over the world.

My name is Ella Burken and I spend time helping on my family’s dairy farm, Blue Hyll Dairy in Clinton. I am currently going into my senior year at Easton Valley High School and I am serving as Vice President of the FFA chapter. My parents are Adam and Jennifer Burken. Blue Hyll dairy is currently milking around 1100 Holsteins. My general responsibilities on the farm include vaccinating cows, paperwork, and giving occasional tours.  I think dairy month is so important because it gives us a chance to teach people about dairy and the importance of it. It is very important that people know where their milk is coming from and it’s a pretty cool process to show the younger generations especially. Many kids these days just think their milk comes from a grocery store but it’s our job to show them the bigger picture!
