Maquoketa, IA – Timber Lanes, a family-owned and operated bowling alley in Maquoketa, Iowa, was opened in 1990 by Louie Clasen. Samantha, his daughter, now runs the business with her father.

Timber Lanes started with a kitchen and 12 bowling lanes, which were busy seven nights a week. A few years later, they added a softball field and sand volleyball courts. They also hosted large summer parties with big-name bands, attracting people from surrounding areas.

In 2017, they expanded with The Timber Center, a large event hall that can accommodate up to 500 guests and features a custom bar and back patio. The Timber Center hosts various events, including weddings, corporate events, and graduations.

The Clasen and McLaughlin families continue to operate Timber Lanes and The Timber Center, aiming to attract new visitors to the area and provide entertainment for all ages.

On Saturday, August 2nd Timber Lanes will be hosting a 35-year reunion at Timber Lanes beginning at 1:00 p.m. They are asking all past bowlers, softball players, bartenders and friends together join us and celebrating this milestone. A DJ will be playing all day and will be having a potluck to celebrate. Come out and swap stories and memories with the Timber Lanes staff past and present from the last 35 years!
