Kasey Bredekamp recently posted this photo and thoughts, “I took this photo to show the reality of your kid in one of the toughest sports! Hard Enduro!
From the other side of the tape, every rock, every rut feels like a personal affront. My boy’s out there battling, not just the course, but himself. Each slip, each near-miss, it’s a punch to my gut. This isn’t just a race; it’s a trial by fire, and I’m here, a helpless spectator, watching him forge his spirit in the crucible of Hard Enduro. The silence between the roars of engines is filled with my unspoken hopes and fears. I see the determination in his eyes, the grit in his stance, and I know he’s learning more in these brutal moments than any textbook could teach. It’s a strange mix of pride and worry, watching him push his limits, knowing the pain is part of the process. But beyond the scrapes and bruises, there’s a deeper victory. It’s the resilience he’s building, the unwavering resolve to get back up, dust off, and keep pushing. That’s the real race, and win or lose, he’s already making me proud. I am so proud! He did get up and kept going! Keep fighting bud you’ll get to where you’re going.”
Watch for articles on the individual local youth riders as they continue to do amazing things in their sports.
