River Hawks season comes to an end. On February 17 we traveled to Clinton to face the number 2 seed in district 5, Prince of Peace for first round action . The game started off just the way the last one ended in overtime, a tight battle. We shot the ball ok and we’re playing good defense in the first quarter and we’re down 20 to 13 at the end of the quarter. The second quarter we were toe to toe and down 33 to 25 at half. In the 2nd half our shots wouldn’t fall and the state’s leading scorer for POP got hot. Our kids kept playing hard but in the end we lost 67 to 45. Scoring: Callan 10,Justin 8,Jeremy 7,Stephen 6,Nolan 5,Keagan 5 and Easton 4. I would like to send out a big thank you to Blake and Ray Bormann for being my assistant’s and doing a great job!! To the bus drivers, Pat Dierks and Roy Fuegen, the crew that sits behind the scorer’s table at home games, Tyler and Troy Shannon, DJ Stoll and Derek Erwin, the parents for all that they do, to my wife Rhonda, without her I wouldn’t ever be on time and to the Community that continues to show great support! I would like to mention the 6 seniors,Nolan,Justin,Jeremy,Kyler,Austin, and Stephen for laying the ground work for success! We double our wins from 3 to 6 this year and are poised for more success next year thanks to them!! I know the kid’s coming back will work hard in the off season and look forward to seeing their improvement next fall! God bless and Go River Hawks
