By Caroline Bredekamp for the Preston Times,

Members of the Preston Legion Women’s Auxiliary will be hosting a Remembrance Day Quilt Show at the Preston Legion Building on Saturday, September 13th from Noon until 4PM and on Sunday, September 14th from 10AM-2PM.  A variety of Patriotic themed quilts will be on display, loaned to the quilt show by auxiliary members, military families, war veterans and family and friends.  Quilts will be representing individuals from WWII, Korea, Operation Freedom, Iraq and more.  There will be an interactive quilt memorial, as well as a silent auction for a quilted wall hanging.   The auxiliary members will be taking down names of individuals to be nominated for quilts and they will have a donation box on site to collect funds for supplies for those that make the special Quilts of Valor.

The entrance fee for this fundraiser is $10 at the door and includes admission to the Quilt show, a dessert, drink and a door prize ticket.  The Preston Legion Women’s Auxiliary hopes to make this event a semiannual event with a different set of featured quilts at each show.  The auxiliary looks forward to seeing you for this special Remembrance Day event and they invite you to ask a friend to join you.
