On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 1:46 p.m. Clinton County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 136 and 380th Avenue, Goose Lake for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the driver of one of the vehicles was still inside their vehicle and was unresponsive. Life saving measures were performed at the scene, but the driver succumbed to their injuries.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.

The driver of the other involved vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
Highway 136 and 380th Avenue were shut down for approximately two (2) hours. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, the Goose Lake Fire Department, the Preston-Miles Ambulance Service, Charlotte First Responders, Clinton Fire Department Ambulance and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
