We are introducing a new section called “You get The Last Word”. We asked the residents to finish the following sentence: “My oldest friend is …”. Clifton B. said: “My oldest friend, I would say is Tad Alterkrsue. He was a childhood friend. We were neighbors. We went to school together in a one room schoolhouse. We played together in the neighborhood. He moved to Cedar Falls when we were about 8 years old. We traveled back and forth to see each other as the years went by. He came to see me in Muscatine. We still keep in contact with each other on the phone.”
(We want to thank Clifton B. and family for sharing his memories of “the past” with us. Hopefully, sharing and reminiscing, will bring some smiles to your face, as you read this article.)
