The Spragueville American Legion observed the start of Memorial Day weekend by erecting the flags and poles on Friday May 23rd at 5:00 PM in the Spragueville Cemetery.  With the many hands of those of the community and Legion and Auxiliary members the task was quickly completed.
The Legion was fortunate to not have any names to add to the Veterans Memorial this year.
The community assisted again on Memorial Day itself with the taking down of the flags and poles and the collecting of the small flags off of the veterans graves.
The Legion would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone that assisted them, as your participation is what makes it possible for them to continue to do this every year.
Certificates of membership had been presented earlier to Don Regenwether for 70 years and Glenn Holdgrafer and Jim Ralston for 50 years.
