On May 15 the Jackson County Area Tourism Association (JCATA) held their annual meeting & banquet in Sabula. The evening began with a social hour and open house at the Jackson County Welcome Center at the Island City Harbor building. Next it was on to American Legion Post 74 where featured speaker of the night, Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer, spoke on the economic importance of tourism, and praised the JCATA on it’s efforts in Jackson County.
JCATA Director Tom Devine along with President Steve Tebbe then announced JCATA grant awards, followed by discussion of various tourism-related topics by those in attendance. It was a fine, well-attended event. The JCATA would like to thank Lt. Gov. Cournoyer for taking time from her busy schedule to speak to the group.
