This past summer, local Girl Scout Troop 2959 created a special PSA project to promote drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and to do so with reusable containers. The PSA also stressed that one use plastic bottles are not beautiful as they are littered about and end up our waterways. The only beauty that was found in them was with the repurposed bottles being made into flower bouquets. Ann Burns, who volunteers with a sustainable Jackson County organization saw the project and told her co-volunteers about its message. The adults then hired the girl scouts to create additional displays for a donation to their troop.

Girl Scout Troop 2959 members receive a check from Mary Hayward at a recent meeting.
