Easton Valley played a double-header against Alburnett on Thursday, June 5th at home. The River Hawks couldn’t keep up with Alburnett and fell 12-1. Claire Roe struck out six for EV. Claire Roe and Rylie Gillen were a force together in the line-up, as they each collected two hits for the River Hawks. Claire Roe led with one run batted in. Ada Johnson stole two bases.
Easton Valley fell in the second game 11-1. The River Hawks scored one run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run to right field by Ada Johnson (her first over-the-fence homerun ever). Johnson also struck out four to help her cause. You can catch the River Hawks in action this week. They take on Lisbon on Monday, the 9th before traveling to Starmont on the 10th. This team is young (1 junior, 3 sophomores, 3 freshmen, and 4 eighth graders), but they are a team to reckon with. Consistency through an entire game is being worked on, and I have no doubt that they’ll get there.
