Seven 2025 High School graduates from Jackson County have been awarded $750 Jackson County Agricultural Scholarships.
* Carter Burken, son of Matt and Amanda Burken of rural Charlotte, will graduate from Maquoketa High School and plans to attend Kirkwood Community College majoring in Ag Science.
* Ella Burken is the daughter of Jennifer Burken of rural Miles. Ella will graduate from Easton Valley and is heading to Iowa State University to study Animal Science.
* Alia Holdgrafer, daughter of Amanda Holdgrafer of Spragueville, will be attending Kirkwood Community College after graduating from Easton Valley. She will major in Ag Business with plans to earn certificates in Precision Ag and Beef Production.
* Audree Kuhlman, daughter of Andrea and Tyler Kuhlman of Maquoketa, will graduate from Maquoketa High School this spring before heading to the University of Wisconsin at Platteville to study Animal Science.
* Charlie Lane, son of Mark and Brianna Lane of Preston, will graduate this spring from Marquette Catholic High School in Bellevue. Charlie plans to attend Iowa State University to major in Ag Business with a minor in Animal Science.
* Alia Schmidt is the daughter of Patty and Randy Schmidt of Preston and will graduate from Easton Valley in May. Alia will attend Iowa State University majoring in Animal Science/Pre-Vet.
* Maranda Wood, Daughter of Joel and Melissa Wood of rural Baldwin, will graduate from Maquoketa High School before pursuing an Ag Communications degree at Iowa State University this fall.
