Food is the single largest category of material that goes to landfills. Composting is a resourceful way to recycle food scraps and yard waste, keeping it out of the landfill, and living more sustainably. Learn more about composting at home at a Composting 101 program on Sunday, June 22 at 2:00 PM at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.

Environmental Educator Jessica Wagner will discuss different ways of composting, provide tips and tricks for composting, and answer any questions. Vermicomposting will also be discussed.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration required. Compost bins will be for sale for $70. For more information, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or [email protected].
