The Tri-Rivers Honor Band Festival was held on January 13th at Maquoketa Valley High school. Easton Valley Band students were nominated by their instructor, Amanda Carlson, within the constraints of instrumentation for the group. The students arrived in Maquoketa Valley around lunch time and participated in rehearsals all day with the top students from each school in our conference. The event gave the students an opportunity to play in a band larger than 50 students and with a variety of musical instruments being played. This year the Honor Band was under the direction of Byron Tinder (from Gilbert, IA). The Easton Valley students represented our district well and enjoyed the day and experience.
