Students Austin Thomson (senior) and Lillian Soto (freshman) participated in the Meistersinger Honor Choir at Wartburg College on January 26th and 27th. This selective festival features the highest achieving choir students from over 100 different schools. While there, they got the opportunity to take voice lessons from the highly esteemed Wartburg vocal faculty, work directly with the guest composer (Dr. Marques L.A. Garrett), and spend time with Wartburg music students who hosted them overnight. Austin performed with the mixed choir and Lillian with the treble choir at the sold out concert on Monday, January 27th which is archived and still available to watch on wartburgknightvision.com.
“I’m so proud of these students for their eagerness to take this opportunity, work hard, and represent Easton Valley well. Thank you for reaching out and helping them get recognized for their excellence and hard work!” said Jen Diemer, EV Choir teacher.
When asked about the experience at this year’s event Easton Valley Senior Austin Thomson stated, “It was an amazing experience. There were many talented people helping us create the best music we could.”
