DES MOINES, IOWA – Five individuals and a National Championship-winning team will be inducted into the Grand View Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the annual Homecoming festivities next week, along with the recognition of the Robert L. Mahaffey Community Service Award. The honorees were recognized at the Athletic Awards Dinner on Saturday, October 5th, at 6:00 p.m., and the Grand View football game halftime on October 5th.

From Preston, Iowa; Lauryn Camp, Women’s Track & Field (2008-12).

Lauryn Camp is a standout thrower who impacted Grand View University’s track and field program. As a 3-time Weight Throw All-American, she placed 4th at the 2010 Indoor Championships, 5th in 2011, and 2nd in 2012, showcasing her consistency and growth in the event. Lauryn also qualified for the Hammer Throw at the 2011 Outdoor Championships and earned 11th place at the 2012 Outdoor Championships in Marion, Indiana. Her conference achievements are equally impressive. She was a Conference Champion in the weight throw in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Lauryn earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the Hammer Throw in 2011 and received Conference Honorable Mention in multiple events: Shot Put (2009), Weight Throw (2009), and Hammer Throw (2012). Lauryn’s contributions helped lead Grand View to 4 indoor and 3 outdoor conference championship titles during her time with the team, solidifying her legacy as a vital member of these successful squads.
