The Preston Farmer’s Market hosted the vendors and held a day of EMT Appreciation. Members of the Community Ambulance Service Crew held a freewill donation back sale and food stand to raise funds for the needed equipment used by the responders. It was a great morning to be out near and in the park and celebrate the unsung, volunteers who help individuals in need of medical assistance before reaching a doctor and hospital.

The Farmer’s Market isn’t just about produce and crafts, it’s about community.

An ambulance was on hand for EMT Appreciation Day, and some young community members were able to climb in and explore the rig and the equipment. Showing the youth what the ambulance entails helps to lesson stress and anxiety in case they are ever in need of a ride to the hospital. They will have an idea of what their adult community members do and what the ride may require.

Future Volunteer EMTS in the making. Sidenote: They already doctored me up earlier this summer when in need of a band-aid at the Farmer’s Market!
