Jessica Wagner from Jackson County Conservation shows the students Monarch Butterflies in various stages of development.  The pop-up white netted enclosures are handy for individuals interested in helping to save the Monarch population and watch the complete- egg-caterpillar- chrysalis- butterfly lifecycle.

Comparing various monarchs.  Two dots on lower wings means its male and no dots means its female.

Thanks to Jackson County Conservation, Easton Valley 2nd grade classes have been able to raise over 20 caterpillars! As they emerge as Monarch butterflies, they’ll be tagging them to help track their journey south.
