It was a busy week for the River Hawk volleyball teams with a FS/JV match on Monday, a Varsity triangular on Thursday and an 11 team Varsity tournament on Saturday! The FS girls came up just short at Monticello in games of 15-21 and 14-21. Kedley Holdgrafer led with 3 kills, followed by Ryleigh Franzen with 2. Chelsae Schmidt had 2 assists and Anabelle Gebhart added 1. Schmidt, Franzen and Sophia Roe each contributed a point for the River Hawks with an ace serve. Kinlee Billmeyer led the defense with 4 digs, Franzen added 3, Roe 2 and Holdgrafer with 1. This squad is really working well together and growing each week in their skills and communication! The JV squad also came up short in scores of 9-21 and 10-21. Jada Geerts had the only kill for the River Hawks, assisted by Allison Westerlund. Defensively, Geerts had 3 digs, Westerlund 2 and Schmidt added 2. With the addition of Nizhonia Schmidt and Jamyra Wagner, this squad went 15/15 from the serving line! This group is also working hard each week and continue to show skill improvement!

I continue to see great potential with this young and inexperienced team! They are working hard physically and mentally. It takes a lot of time and reps to build confidence and unity. Stick with this team, you will not be disappointed! Come out on Thursday to Miles and show your River Hawk pride!!!!
