Mrs. Sterk loves many things about teaching. One of the things she loves most is watching her students’ eyes light up when they are engaged in their learning and the smiles on their faces when they realize they have learned something new. Mrs. Sterk also loves to see the growth of each of her students throughout the years and says it’s amazing to be a part of that, knowing she is responsible for making that happen.
Mrs. Sterk started teaching because she wanted variety by not doing the same thing all day long and loved interacting with kids. She has been teaching for 38 years and does not have a favorite subject to teach. Mrs. Sterk has many hobbies outside of school such as reading, crafting, and spending time with her family and dogs. At the time Mrs. Sterk was applying for a job, there weren’t many options available for her, and ended up getting a position at Preston Elementary School.
